From One Veteran to Another:
Let’s Build a Financial Plan With the Same Discipline You Brought to Service.
BDB Wealth Advisors is an Army veteran-led firm.
We help veterans, service members, and military families coordinate their financial lives, bringing together the financial pieces that often don’t get organized after service.

Just a straight conversation.
A Note on What We Do — Please Read
Scope of Services BDB Wealth Advisors provides investment management and financial planning services. We help you coordinate your military and civilian income, savings, and long-term financial goals. We do not provide VA claims assistance, disability rating advice, or legal services related to military benefits. For VA claims and benefit determination questions, we recommend working with an accredited VA claims agent or a veterans service organization (VSO).
You May Be Looking for Help With…
Understanding how your military retirement income, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and other benefits fit into your overall financial picture alongside civilian savings and investments
Evaluating whether your TSP funds should stay where they are or be rolled into a different account structure — and having a clear framework for thinking through that decision
Updating a financial plan that was built around military life and hasn't been revisited since your transition to a civilian career or retirement
Working with an adviser who understands military pay structures, the TSP, the Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), and military culture — rather than needing to explain it from scratch
Getting a coordinated view of all your income sources — military, civilian, and eventual Social Security — and how they work together in retirement
How BDB Wealth Can Help
Coordinating Your Financial Picture
We can help you see how your various income sources and accounts — military retirement pay, TSP, civilian employer accounts, personal investments — fit together into one coordinated plan rather than operating in separate silos.
TSP Evaluation
We can walk through the considerations around keeping funds in the TSP versus rolling them over, based on your specific situation: expense ratios, investment options, flexibility, tax implications, and how the TSP fits with your other accounts. We don’t have a stake in either outcome — we’ll work through the trade-offs with you.
Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Coordination
We can help you understand how the SBP fits into your broader survivor income planning — as part of a comprehensive look at your household’s financial situation, not as a product recommendation.
Transition Planning
For veterans in mid-transition or recently out of service, we can help bring what you’ve earned through service and what you’re building in civilian life into one coordinated financial plan. Ongoing Portfolio Management Fee-based, fiduciary investment management with no commissions and at least quarterly portfolio reviews.
Our Approach
1. Start with a conversation about your service background, your current financial picture, and your goals.
2. Build an Investment Policy Statement tailored to your specific situation and risk tolerance.
3. Manage your portfolio with at least quarterly reviews.
4. Coordinate with your CPA, estate attorney, and other professionals as appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No — that is outside our scope as a registered investment adviser. We focus on financial planning and investment management: coordinating your military and civilian income sources, savings, and long-term goals. For VA claims questions, we recommend an accredited VA claims agent or a veterans service organization (VSO).
-
It depends on your situation. The TSP has very low expense ratios and a straightforward investment lineup — real advantages. If you have other accounts and want a more coordinated strategy or need more investment flexibility, a rollover may make sense. We can walk through the trade-offs specific to your situation without any stake in either outcome.
-
We can help you understand how the SBP fits into your overall survivor income planning — as part of a comprehensive look at your household’s financial picture. We don’t provide legal advice or make benefit determinations; those remain with the appropriate military and VA resources.
-
Yes, within the scope of investment management and financial planning. We’d be transparent from the start of any conversation about the relevant parameters.
